You don’t need to listen for long before you start to sink into the true depth and beauty of his music.” His music has been written at the end of the wold and set against the global turbulence we are all facing. The music is occasionally sweet but at its heart it is moody, dark, and visceral.
Falcon Down has found his voice in these songs. The structure of the EP and its lyrical journey takes us form the initial spark ‘The edge of the Abyss’, to the shadows with ‘Dark Waves’ and stirs our emotional responses with ‘Fatal Flame’ The final track has been written as a fireside accompaniment. An accomplished and cohesive EP, written in the vein of some of our favourite albums and EP’s of the past but they still sound fresh and current.
Falcon Down’s music is indie and singer songwriter in its style. Being the sole writer and instrumentalist allows us to hear Falcon’s vision in their purest form. His unique vocal and competent guitar playing allow the songs to burn through their time effortlessly.
Biography
Falcon Down’s only member is Daniel Childerley. He was rehearsing with the ‘No Hawks’ a classic punk rock band when the world seemed to stop. He decided to put down his drum sticks and picked up his neglected guitars. The songs on this EP are a response to the turbulent backdrop we are all facing.
Writing songs at the end of the world in a drum shed which is constantly battered by the wind is all the inspiration one really needs. His song writing process like the tracks themselves is rather niche, he goes walking amongst the strong gales and lets their melodies merge with his tinnitus. The results are different but nobody ever stood out by being a facsimile. He embraces his flawed but effective vocal and writes meaningful and honest lyrics.
The songs on his latest EP release ‘Embers’ are intended to be enjoyed on a winters night. He may falter but he never quits.
His new home on Shetland has been a huge influence on this release and If you ever get a chance you too should visit the home of the world’s largest Viking fire festival.

Su música ha sido escrita en el fin del mundo y en contra de la turbulencia global a la que nos estamos enfrentando. La música es ocasionalmente dulce, pero en el fondo es de mal humor, oscura y visceral.
Falcon Down ha encontrado su voz en estas canciones. El único miembro de Falcon Down es Daniel Childerley. Formaba parte de ‘No Hawks’, una clásica banda de punk rock cuando el mundo pareció detenerse. Decidió dejar sus baquetas y recogió sus guitarras abandonadas. Las canciones de este EP son una respuesta al escenario turbulento al que nos enfrentamos todos.
Escribir canciones en fin del mundo en un cobertizo de tambores golpeado constantemente por el viento es toda la inspiración que uno realmente necesita. Su proceso de escritura de, como las propias canciones, es bastante específico, camina entre los fuertes vendavales y deja que sus melodías se fusionen con su tinnitus. Los resultados son diferentes pero nunca nadie destacó haciendo algo fácil. Acepta su voz imperfecta pero eficaz y escribe letras honestas y significativas.
Las canciones de su último lanzamiento EP ‘Embers’ están pensadas para disfrutarlas en una noche de invierno. Puede que dude, pero nunca se rinde.
