Dublin-based band FIRES. are set to release their highly anticipated debut EP Close Eyes, Deep Breathe, Run on December 11, 2020. The EP is a six song collection, and the culmination of three years of writing, demoing and recording. The project contains previous singles “Forgotten Sons,” “All For This,” and “Dream” along with three brand new tracks.
Dealing with themes such as loss, grief, and self-esteem, Close Eyes, Deep Breath, Run is a deeply personal set of songs sure to bring the listener on an emotional journey, while also packing the punch and catchiness FIRES. have become known for. The project is a strong demonstration of the sound that the band have achieved, and is an exciting insight into what’s next.
The EP is energetic and guitar heavy, with well-crafted songs, high attention to detail and creative composition. While punky and driving, the songs are also reflective and spacey, complete with emotive strings, synths and engaging voice-overs.
